Dogs yawn more when they watch their owners than strangers

Everyone knows that yawning is contagious, even between species. But a recent study has shown that dogs are twice as likely to "catch" a yawn from their owners than from strangers. Researchers theorize it's related to empathy, but are uncertain as to exactly how.
