First the poster and now a trailer? Score!

New trailer alert: Wes Anderson's 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'

Just a couple of days ago the world was buzzing about the first official poster for Wes Anderson's next movie, 2014's The Grand Budapest Hotel. I, for one, felt lucky to get just a great poster so early in the game. Now, it seems Fox Searchlight is taking things to a whole new level, because we now have the first official trailer too! This is like Wes Anderson Christmas morning for me.

I was all set to write an entire blog post about just The Grand Budapest Hotel's poster, because really - just look at it. It's epic. It's beautiful. It's...well....it's grand. Between the incredible cast and the gorgeous color, the poster just thrills me to no end.

But you know what? The first trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel thrills me even more. Here it is:

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL - Official International Trailer HD

This looks like Wes Anderson at his very best. Grand Budapest promises to be totally quirky, colorful and of course, beautifully acted. For those of us who appreciate Anderson's genius, we know what we'll get: a movie that offers up a heap of dry humor and wit, loads of eccentricity, gorgeous sets and totally hilarious dialogue.

The Grand Budapest Hotel will be totally over the top, but in a delightful way. Mark my words on this one, folks. And let's get real, me saying the acting will be top notch is certainly not a stretch. Just look at the cast for this thing!

Yes, I've used an extreme amount of exclamation points, but hey, it's not even 9 a.m. here and I've only had one cup of coffee, but seeing this new trailer and just thinking about the grand possibilities for The Grand Budapest Hotel gets me overly excited. I can't help it. I'm one of those Wes Anderson fans. Moonrise Kingdom is one of my favorite films ever. I can say the same for The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and Fantastic Mr. Fox, too.

In a cinematic world filled with seemingly never-ending sequels and reboots and whatever you want to call the rehashed drivel Hollywood is selling us these days, Wes Anderson's works are brilliant and, most importantly to me, original. I expect the same from The Grand Budapest Hotel, and I cannot wait until it opens in March.
