They’re funnier than you think!

Homeschool Comics

I’m sure you’ve all heard jokes that poke fun at homeschoolers; I know I have. “You must be homeschooled” is even a jab that people use when someone says something silly or doesn’t make sense, or if they’re socially awkward. For the record, I know socially awkward people in both categories—I’m a shy, awkward product of the public school system myself—but the stereotype persists.

The good news is that there are some funny homeschool comics FOR homeschoolers, too! Calvin and Hobbes is known as being particularly homeschool friendly, for example. One particular Calvin and Hobbes comic that really made me sad was the one about “the pills I’m taking.” But there are some actually hilarious comics about homeschoolers, especially the Ryan Gosling homeschooling “Hey Girl” meme.

I was looking for a good comic to put on our local group’s page—just for something new—and I ran across this Pinterest page full of homeschool comics. It features the Gosling meme as well as other comics that I thought were pretty funny. I love the pajamas one so much I chose it for our group page.

Do you know of any great homeschooling or unschooling comics? Please share them here! I’d love to feature them and link to your blog if you share one with us. I’ll leave you with a funny joke a young man in our co-op told us at last year’s Christmas party in his ventriloquist act:

What do you call it when a homeschooling mom talks to herself?

A parent-teacher conference!
