World of Warcraft steps up the difficulty with "timewalking"
World of Warcraft doesn't offer level scaling for its dungeons, which means that players who are at the level cap, with the best possible gear, will be able to blast through low-level dungeons without barely lifting a finger. But where's the fun in that?
Blizzard is going to start having "timewalking" events, during which players will have their level scaled back for lower-level dungeons. But to compensate for the increased difficulty, the loot will be scaled up to the players' actual levels.
This is how other MMORPGs (like Guild Wars 2) do things, and personally, I am a fan. Your character is always scaled down to the level of the zone or dungeon you are in, so you always have a bit of a challenge. Congrats on introducing the feature, Blizzard!
