Yankee star in the tabloids.

What is A-Rod hiding?

It seems today that more often than not, sports stars are becoming less and less likely role models. In fact, it seems like now that if you look to sport stars for any sort of moral guidance, you may be in for a rough life. With that being said, New York Yankee star Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez isn't helping out the “athletes are good people,” case very much this week.

According to sources close to the situation, Alex Rodriguez is being accused of paying a clinic employee in Miami to prevent the release of documents that could be harmful to his career. The clinic in question has been in the middle of a large-scale Major League Baseball investigation into the possible use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).

While there is currently no substantial evidence, if the familiar source decides to give a sworn testimony in a court of law, or hands over incriminating documents, A-Rod will be in a world of hurt. The document in question suggests that A-Rod had received a large quantity of PEDs from a biogenesis clinic in Miami. If this does surface, A-Rod will face suspension from baseball, as well as the possibility of criminal charges.

The lab where the PEDs were provided is known as Biogenesis of America, and was founded by a man named Anthony Bosch. Bosch is thought to not have only provided PEDs for some top-level MLB athletes, but also to have injected A-Rod with steroids in his own home. The story about the Biogenesis of America broke out before the season started, with a former employee talking to ESPN’s “Outside the Lines.”

In regards to one of his top players, Yankees’ manager Joe Girardi said, “It’s an MLB issue. I mean, that's my reaction to that." While no concrete evidence has surfaced, the Yankees and A-Rod may be in a world of hurt in the coming months.
