Tim Tebow may be scraping the bottom of the barrel next season.

The fall from grace is a long way down

Only a year removed from delivering an unexpected AFC West Conference win, and an even more unexpected playoff win at the hands of the Steelers, Tim Tebow does not find himself in a good spot. For those who have kept up with the drama, after the Denver Broncos scored the biggest free agent in history in Payton Manning, Tim Tebow was traded.

Given the option between two teams, Tebow chose the New York Jets over his hometown team of the Jacksonville Jaguars, in hopes of getting a starting job. Now, after a disappointing year with little to no playing time and Tebow and the Jets making it public they will part ways, Tebow is essentially jobless and homeless. Where will the former Heisman winner end up?

Though many believed Tebow would wind up in Jacksonville next season, sources believe this is less than likely. ESPN reported recently that new Jaguars GM David Caldwell has no interest in the young “quarterback.” Though owner Shad Khan had interest in Tebow only 10 months ago, he is reported saying that taking Tebow or not is, “not [my] call.” GM Caldwell is calling the shots, and in his eyes, Tebow is not a franchise quarterback.

Though the Jaguars and Jets were less than solid teams this year, and both had miserable years at the quarterback position, neither team is willing to take a chance on Tebow. The Jets put their faith in rookie Greg Mcelroy, and the Jaguars plan to have an open competition for the spot.

While critics still claim Tebow isn’t an NFL quarterback, he does have a playoff win under his belt, and can be credited for turning the Denver Broncos into a playoff time after having a start that many believed would lead them to a lottery pick. So the real question is, where will Tim Tebow end up next year and is he willing to sacrifice the title of QB for a chance to play in the NFL?
