Media Hijinks - Super Heroes, Arnie, Sherlock and The Doctor
For those that were addicted to the last season of Arrow, be aware that the new season is coming up here in October. And along with more Oliver Queen taking out the bad guys, it looks like DC and Arrow fans alike have a new reason to wet themselves. For the show will be bringing a new super hero to the small screen in the form of The Flash.
This speedy hero will be the first super-powered character to make his way into the normally mundane world of Arrow. He’ll be showing up in only 3 episodes and without his powers, but they’re apparently setting him up for his own television show. Whether he’ll get super-powered before then or not remains to be seen. Oh, and even better news for the hardcore fanboys - The Flash will eventually be sporting his classic red and yellows. Looks like a great opportunity for Warner Bros. to bring some new blood to viewers and possibly set themselves up even further for a potential Justice League movie. Time for us to hold our breath for another 2 ½ months until Arrow returns.
Next up, a bit of ridiculous news. By now, Arnie and Conan fans alike probably already know he’s coming back to finish out the Conan trilogy (finally!) with The Legend of Conan. Now, it looks like the powers-that-be are going to try to milk the franchise even further. They want this new movie to be not the end of the story, but the start of a brand new trilogy. Worse yet, they want the nearing-eighty Arnie to star in all three of them. Myself, I have to wonder at whether a geriatric Conan is what people really want to see for the next 7 or 8 years. One movie to close the story? Yes, please! But three? I do not approve.
And a couple of quick tidbits. Sherlock fans can now get a look at the first teaser for the upcoming season 3. Click on this link here to go check it out. And then force yourself to wait until next year before it finally airs.
And last up, some really great news that, by the time you read this, may no longer be news at all. This Sunday, August 4th, the BBC will be making an official announcement on who the next Doctor Who will be! So keep your eyes on the Internet and place your bets now, Doctor Who fans.
