Media Hijinks - ‘Star Wars’, ‘Glee’ Actors and Justin Bieber
Welcome to yet another week of Media Hijinks and all the fun and oftentimes disappointing news that it brings. First up, let’s get the latest Star Wars rumors out of the way. It looks like they’ve finally settled on a title for Episode VII and that title is… Star Wars: A New Dawn. Also, some may already know that Disney plans on milking the franchise for all it’s worth by making a bunch of spin-off flicks. The first one will be, apparently, a Han Solo origin movie and furthermore they plan on using Solo to his fullest extent and cramming whatever new actor they find to play him into everything that they can. Of course, these could just be rumors as always. Only the great mouse can say one way or another.
Some good news for DC and Arrow fans - the actor who will be playing The Flash has finally been cast. They’ve picked up some guy named Grant Gustin, an alumnus from that television show that I’ve never seen called Glee. Does anyone know if this guy is any good? Will he do the role of The Flash justice? Oh, and apparently another Glee actor is pushing for a role. Harry Shum, Jr. has announced that he really, really wants to play Nightwing. You can watch his interview here and see what he has to say about that.
Up next, a funny bit of trolling news. Justin Bieber (yeah, that’s right, HIM) sent out an instagram photo of himself with a Batman vs. Superman script along with a message that suggested that he may have been offered a role as Robin in the new flick. Of course, people freaked out for a bit until they realized that it was all a prank. Check out the photo he sent out below:
And finally, since I slammed on The Last Airbender last week, I thought this was appropriate. It’s an old video, but still worth a watch. M. Night Shyamalan got interviewed about why he thought Airbender didn’t do so well. Watch as he tries to defend that horrible pile of crap by explaining that Western audience “just don’t get him”. Yes, Mr. Night, we just don’t get why you made a terrible film that pretty much everyone hated. It must be our twisted and shallow Western perspective.
Does M. Night Shyamalan care about The Last Airbender's bad reviews?
