Fandom Crafts: Babylon 5

J. Michael Straczynski's epic space opera turns 20 next year, and to celebrate, Babylon 5 fans of all stripes are collaborating on celebrations around the world. This underdog of a show has a small but loyal fanbase, which has kept the show alive in our hearts over the years since it was canceled.

Knitting
I was only able to find two Babylon 5 knitting projects: a knitted placemat with one of the Shadow Ships in black on a red background, and a collection of knit charts for cotton washcloths. The charts are for the symbols of the various alien races on the show. This makes me think that you could adapt them into a pretty sweet collection of afghan squares, for something to cuddle under at your next viewing party.

Crochet
I only found one instance of Babylon 5 amigurumi, and it's hidden on a blog marked private (although the info remains on Google). Come on, B5 fans, step up your game! How cute would an amigurumi Londo be?!

Cross Stitch/Needlepoint
This intrepid fan made a cross stitch version of the Babylon 5 shield design, using Pattern Maker. And here's a needlepoint shield logo that someone made for their husband. I love the look of these projects, and they would make a great throw pillow cover or tea towel design for the diehard B5 fan, too.

Quilting
The only example of Babylon 5 quilting projects I could find was a mention in this interview with actress Claudia Christian, who played Commander Susan Ivanova. Christian mentions that at a science fiction convention, "A nice fan made me a lovely quilt and matching pillows."

However, I'm not clear from the context of the interview whether this was the same fan who then jabbed her in the kidneys with what turned out to be a plastic toy gun. Is there a deranged quilter out there, stalking Babylon 5 actors? Or were these two separate anecdotes that got smashed together by accident in the interview? (I rather suspect the latter, given what nice people quilters are, in my experience.)
