Square Enix announces Final Fantasy VII remake

Eighteen years after its release, Final Fantasy VII - according to fans, the best Final Fantasy of the long-running series - is finally getting a remake. Yesterday during Sony's E3 conference, Square Enix announced that they are beginning production of the remake, and the internet went nuts.

It will be some time before the game is available, of course. The game will initially be available for Playstation (presumably only PS4) with no word on whether it will be out for Xbox or PC in the future.
