Spoons, Toons & Booze at Nitehawk Cinema

When I was a kid, sitting down in front of the TV with a giant bowl of sugary cereal and zoning out to Saturday morning cartoons wasn't just a fun way to welcome the weekend; it was a precious ritual. Now, thanks to Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn, you can bring that ritual back (while reliving some of your most beloved childhood memories) with Spoons, Toons & Booze.

Spoons, Toons & Booze is a monthly event featuring more than eighty cartoon series ranging from the 1990s all the way back to the 1930s. In addition to the toons, the audience is invited to enjoy Nitehawk's free “all you can eat” cereal bar – filled with nostalgic breakfast delights - and seasonal drink menus. As if that weren't fun enough, viewers are also given an opportunity to select which shows are screened by participating in games and contests.

The one hitch with Spoons, Toons & Booze is that it's wildly popular, so tickets sell out fairly quickly. If you're in the mood to treat your inner child, though, there's no better place. So button up your favorite pair of onesie pajamas,* brush up on your toon trivia, and save plenty of room in your belly for the most whimsical brunch in the city.

*Nitehawk doesn't expect you to wear onesie pajamas. I just personally think everyone should.
