Rockstar clarifies: GTA V mods are fine for single-player

When GTA V was announced for PC, people were thrilled at the prospect of being able to develop and use mods for the game. It was a shock, then, when rumors started flying about Rockstar banning players who used mods in the single-player campaign.

It makes sense to ban mods from the multiplayer mode. But banning mods in single-player mode?

No need to worry! Today Rockstar made a public announcement asserting that they are fine with players using mods in single-player mode. They will be patrolling for mods that would give players an advantage in multiplayer, but they encourage people to mod the game for single-player mode.

Glad to hear it, and I love that Rockstar is being so cool about it!
