What’s Happening Wed: The worst teacher

Okay, so the teacher spoken of in this amazing performance (language warning) isn’t an actual person, but our media and culture itself—but the young man performing it had me tearing up and clapping.
Here are 25 good reasons to NOT keep your kiddo busy! This happened to me earlier in the week when Wood Sprite said she was bored. She never said that before this year, and she’s said it a few times. I brightly responded, “That’s great!” and went back to my work. She ended up making a new fruit concoction, skating outside and generally having a great time out of her “boredom.”
And here’s an article about the importance of daydreaming. George Carlin, who advocated at least three hours of daydreaming a day per child, would agree, I think—and so do I.
India’s banning the exploitation of dolphins. I know a lot of young animal rights activists who will be happy about this news!
Apparently moms who work outside the home are happier than stay at home moms. What do you think? I’ve seen so many dubious studies written lately that I honestly don’t know what to think anymore… And what about moms who work AT home?
Speaking of which, here’s another study about the harms of vaccines—this one from Poland. What do you think? I am so ambivalent about this issue!
