Welcome to Klat’s new homeschooling and parenting site! I’m your host, Sara Schmidt, and I’ll be sharing all kinds of news, ideas and other information about homeschooling, unschooling and conscious parenting.

Each week, we’ll have a daily focus. As I share resources, activities and other information, I hope you are inspired to both use the ideas presented as well as to discuss them and share your own here. I love how the Internet has created a space for homeschooling and unschooling families in general and hope that this becomes a community for you and your family.

Our daily themes are as follows:

Monday Medley

On Mondays, I’ll share news from over the weekend, quotes, interviews and anything interesting.

Take Action Tuesday

There are lots of things this community is worried about, ranging from chemicals in products to the environment to even animal issues. When relevant, I will post news and a link to take action websites about these issues. Some weeks I may alternate to “Tasty Tuesdays” and share recipes instead!

What's Happening Wednesday

Come visit the blog to find out about relevant news topics or other unschooling blogs.

Think It Over Thursday

Put on your debate hat and prepare to discuss issues in the news, various homeschool topics or questions about unschooling and parenting in general. We may also explore some kind of meme once in a while.

Friday Fun

Every week I’ll share some fun ideas for the weekend, including links, resources, craft ideas, photos and more. Many of these are things that my seven-year-old daughter and I are doing, or things that I’m teaching in our co-op. Feel free to share your own ideas for the weekend and photos, too!

Saturday Steals and Reviews

On Saturdays, I will review products, media, websites and other resources for families. When I run across helpful deals, I’ll share them with you, too.
