Plus lo mein, homemade sriracha sauce and more

Weekly Recipes: Ruby Citrus Mojito

Indy and I are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary (even though we’ve technically been together since junior high, nearly19 years ago) this weekend and, as usual, we have no idea what we want to do once Wood Sprite is at my parents’ house. I am thinking this ruby citrus mojito might be fun to make. We used to experiment with new drinks during date nights and it was a lot of fun.

Stuffed peppers might also be yummy. I had a friend who made stuffed peppers quite often, but neither Indy nor Sprite like peppers (well, Indy likes small hot peppers, but that’s it). I’m a stuffed mushroom fan, myself.

Speaking of hot peppers, here’s a cool recipe for homemade habanero sriracha sauce. I’m bookmarking this for him for sure; he puts sriracha in everything! He sneaked it in some homemade chili a few weeks ago and I didn’t even notice it.

If you’re in the mood for some lo mein this weekend, you might want to try this creative idea from Wellness Mama. Parsnips and shrimp, anyone?

And if you’re ready to start making some snacks for Valentine’s Day, these cute heart-shaped granola bars from Having Fun at Home might be the perfect project for you and your family.

Another great dessert idea comes from Homegrown and Healthy. It’s a rustic blueberry and brie puff, which sounds absolutely decadent. I’ve been sneaking blueberries into my smoothies lately because I’m not a big fan, but I do enjoy them when they are mixed in with other ingredients.
