Summer’s near its end. Have you had enough water fun yet?

Water parks: Hit them while you can!

This summer has been a hard one for my family and I won’t be sorry to see it go. Besides, I’m a fall girl anyway. That said, we all know our kids love to play in the water as much as possible during the summer months, so my question is: Did you have enough water fun yet?

Wood Sprite has gone creek stomping (that seems to be the name for it—when I was little we just called it going to the creek), swimming at indoor and outdoor pools, and to play at splash parks. I must admit that I really love free splash parks—those parks that are like any other park you’ll visit with a slide, swings and other equipment as well as some fun spouts to play in.

Today she went on a field trip with her father and our homeschool group to St. Louis CityGarden, and holy cow did she love it. (Check out the photo; isn’t it especially gorgeous at night?) There was so much to do there, from sculptures to climb to water to play in, and she’s already begging to go back. It’s really too bad that the season is almost over, but we’re going to squeeze in another visit next week. We also have Six Flags season passes and she hasn’t been to Hurricane Harbor yet this year! I don’t even know if we have time to remedy that or not.

Which water parks do you make it a “must” to hit every year? Which do your kids love best? And if you’ve ever been to any indoor water parks that are open year-round, are they worth the travel and cost? Share your water parks suggestions, stories and photos below.
