Tasty Tuesdays: Ruby Tuesday swaps
I don’t have a lot of great foodie ideas for you this week. We actually ate somewhere nice during the weekend, which was fun—but there were terrible storms during our meal, which was not-so-fun. Aside from some basement flooding, my family is all fine, however, so I can’t complain.
The nice place we ate at was Ruby Tuesday, which I love because I can make awesome salads that are different every single trip to the bar. Then I get the veggie plate so I can eat vegetarian; I always get spaghetti squash, zucchini and cheesy mashed potatoes (which are dessert for me!). It’s been a while since we were there, but it seems like the bad tornadoes that happened two Februarys ago might have occurred on our last visit—maybe we should stop going! Anyway, click the links above for similar Ruby Tuesday recipes.
Next on the list: spicy pickled veggies! I am hoping that this might be the secret to getting my husband to eat more vegetables. He loves pickles—especially spicy ones!—but does not love any vegetables aside from potatoes and green beans. What can I say? We live in the Midwest and that’s what we always ate for dinner. I didn’t have asparagus until I was in my 20s! I’ve never really tried to pickle anything, though, so not only will it be an adventure—hopefully it will also be a way to get him to eat more vegetables.
And just for fun, here are 20 weird uses for your coffee. Did you know that you can dye your hair with it?
