Plus cucumber lemonade, cookie experiments & German pancakes

Tasty Tuesday: Spaghetti squash pizza crust

You know I love to share things from A Beautiful Mess. It’s one of my absolute favorite blogs. This week, they have a recipe up featuring spaghetti squash pizza crust. I am so not kidding! This looks so mouth-watering, and it features at least a quarter of my favorite foods in one place. You can bet we’ll be trying this one. They also have a cucumber lemonade with gin recipe that looks amazing, and for once I actually have all of the ingredients needed at home.

We missed 4H this week because of my back strain, but our new group did a cool project you might want to try. Have each family member bake cookies, but have each one leave out an ingredient. Catalog what happened and the changes between “normal” cookies and these cookies. Then share them and try to guess which ingredient is missing! You could really do this with lots of different foods.

Homegrown & Healthy has a great list of 14 filling meals for new moms to eat. Be sure to bookmark this one to help keep your energy up if you are expecting—or to make a few of these meals to share with the new mom in your life! How awesome would it be to have someone build you some high energy foods when you’re expecting or after you’ve delivered? Aubrey also has a recipe up this week for German Apple pancakes… YUM. It looks pretty simple to make, too. Even if you don’t use all of the raw, natural ingredients she uses, you can still use the same recipe in your own kitchen, too.
