Tasty Tuesday: National Cheesecake Day!
Today is National Cheesecake Day! If you love yourself some cheesecake, here are a few ideas and recipes for you to try…
Deep-fried cheesecake. Try making it yourself or buy it from someone; our local sno-cone truck sells it.
Cut up cheesecake chunks and add them to your ice cream or a bowl of fruit salad. Yum! Drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce on top if you wish. Crumble some graham crackers to go on top for extra crunch.
Try a new flavor at the Cheesecake Factory. I highly recommend the tiramisu! It’s half-price all day today, so feel free to splurge.
Make some chocolate chip cheesecake.
Or make any of the cheesecakes on this Pinterest board—there’s cinnamon, red velvet, peppermint, lemon, pumpkin, raspberry and many more! The chocolate-covered cheesecake pops look especially awesome, but I’m a sucker for any kind of “pop,” really. Whatever you decide to make, make two batches and take one to a friend going through troubled times who could really use the surprise, or a lonely neighbor who would enjoy the treat.
Not a cheesecake fan? Make yourself some delicious spinach dip sometime this week. Indy and I are going to (finally) watch Game of Thrones tonight and we may make some of this! His newest favorite treat is BBQ pulled pork nachos, as well: just buy some Jack Daniels pre-made pulled pork and put it on top of some tortilla chips, then add your favorite cheese, jalapenos and sour cream.
This recipe isn’t tasty, but it looks like a great mosquito repellant!
