Tasty Tuesday: Cookies n cream hot chocolate

If you are in love with the frozen hot chocolate you can get at Dairy Queen, you might want to try making your own. A Beautiful Mess has the most delicious-looking cookies n cream frozen hot chocolate, and cookies n cream is Indy’s favorite flavor. His birthday is coming up this weekend and I am thinking it’s a must-make!

Making risotto and gnocchi are both on my to-cook list this year, so this mushroom risotto recipe from Imagine Childhood really got my attention. We also bought a bunch of potatoes to try our hands at gnocchi this week—does anyone have a great (and maybe easy!) recipe?

Homegrown & Healthy has a recipe for pumpkin bread up right now that you can access, and as a not-so-great cook, I can tell you that pumpkin bread is really hard to mess up! Wood Sprite and I make it several times every year and it’s always delicious. She’ll eat it every day with her breakfast if we have it (not to mention for snack!). If you’re looking for an easy treat to bake for loved ones this year, I highly recommend this moist, decadent treat.

Then I saw this old-fashioned stack cake recipe and could only think, “Hello!” I’m passing this on to Indy to make for Mother’s Day next year. Speaking of which, I completely forgot to get the ingredients for his simple, annual treat: a chocolate éclair cake! I’ll have to do that before Saturday.
