Tasty Tidbits: Homemade hummus

Like hummus? Creative Jewish Mom has a recipe for homemade hummus and it looks pretty awesome. I’ve never made it homemade but I bet it’s even better than store-bought hummus.

How about an Egg McMuffin with prosciutto? I bet if I made this for Indy for breakfast, he’d marry me all over again.

In celebration of the Oscars, A Beautiful Mess has a recipe for popcorn-flavored cupcakes. As not-yummy as that sounds, I have to remember that I do happen to love other popcorn-flavored goodies and that they are probably pretty awesome. (Incidentally, from one popcorn lover to others, if you have any great-tasting recipes that are healthier than the prepackaged ones—or if you know of any prepackaged popcorn brands that are healthier to eat than the average bear—please let me know!) They also have a great list of wines for under $20 as well as recipes for blood orange sangria and pepper jack bites this week. Yum!

How about a power green salad? My family’s been eating a lot of salad lately—whether mixed or blended in smoothies—so I love seeing new creative spins to try. Honestly I’m not that creative when it comes to salads, so if you have some favorites feel free to share them below.

Make a five-ingredient margarita—with ginger beer! I’m not a huge ginger beer fan; we ordered some to try when Wood Sprite became obsessed with Nanny Mcphee 2 a couple of years ago (“Ginger beer!”) and it wasn’t great, but maybe it was a blah brand.
