Here are some recipes to help you stay cozy

Staying warm this weekend

So how much snow did you get? We didn’t get very much—maybe two inches in our yard at the shallowest depth—but it was plenty to make it hard for Indy to get home from work Thursday night. He made it home safely and I hope the same is true for you and yours.

While you’re out playing in (or shoveling) snow or Christmas shopping this weekend, remember to stay warm! Here are some cozy, warm recipes to help you along your way.

Free Homeschool Deals has 25 homemade hot cocoa recipes to try. I have tried a few of them and so far all are great, especially the salted caramel hot chocolate one. Tonight we are going to try one of the Mexican hot chocolate blends. There are recipes for both your own instant powder as well as drinks to enjoy immediately.

If you don’t want cocoa, how about a salted caramel latte, courtesy of Wellness Mama? I love how she makes a healthier version of the most common recipes; her blog is really worth following. And if you don’t have access to some of her ingredients you can always substitute your own, of course.

Have you ever heard of Cincinnati style chili? Neither have I, but this recipe gives you the lowdown on it. It even includes cinnamon, chocolate and cloves, which make it sound like it’s even more perfect for the season.

Homegrown & Healthy is offering five favorite slow cooked meals for your weekend, including Thai Beef Curry, Chicken Supreme, Spicy Spaghetti, Sausage Casserole and Pulled Pork Sandwiches.
