A lot of us are going to find ourselves snowed in over the weekend, so it’s a good time to start planning some activities to do to keep your kids (and yourselves) entertained. Here are some fun ideas; feel free to share your own in the comments.
Tell stories, sing, cook, or do any of these other simple yet fun ideas. Make your own family recipe book or write a family anthem together to perform on special days.
Get out the board games and have a game day. Do it in your pajamas for some extra fun! Make some homemade cookies or pretzels to have with your game playing. Challenge each other to a triathlon: a game of Monopoly, some Jenga and a silly challenge, like who can balance dice on their elbow the longest.
Or if you don’t like games, how about some puzzles?
Make up some family games, like crossword puzzles or search-word challenges with your names.
Have an impromptu birthday party. Not your birthday? Make it an un-birthday party, or a party for a pet or stuffed animal.
Join Netflix and stream some movies. You get a free month-long trial if you haven’t already signed up, so you can watch a bunch of movies for free together. Pop up a bunch of homemade popcorn for a tasty treat while you have your movie marathon.
