Add some food coloring to water in some old ketchup bottles, go outside and spray paint the snow! Draw, spell your names, whatever you want to do.

Freeze some food coloring and water in ice cubes, then take them out to play with in the snow. Make sure you have thick gloves on!

Art Projects for Kids is featuring several cool snow-themed projects, including a winter snowflake grid and colorful snowflakes in circles.

Use your feet to make amazing snow art like this. Some of these look like meditative mandalas; I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been to not step on the patterns. Make sure you take pictures!

Bring a bowl of snow inside and let the kids add food coloring, glitter, craft foam, whatever. See what happens if you add Aqua Sand or Moon Sand, or make string patterns in the snow.

For littles, use cotton balls to make snowmen, igloos, penguins, whatever you like! They are great for sensory activities. Packing peanuts are also good for crafts like these.

Wad up scrap paper for an indoor snowball fight, then use them for a sculpture.

Spoonful has a bunch of snowflake crafts, including no-melt glitter snowflakes, snowflake mobiles, snowy windows and several others. Wood Sprite and I made the cotton swab snowflakes and they are pretty cute. We even gave a few away as gifts this year. I love the fairy snowflakes and glittery ice crystals; we’ll have to do those, too.
