Saturday Steals: Reduced Costco Membership

12/14/13

Confessions of a Homeschooler has a Christmas Traditions Around the World guide you can download for free. I’m so glad I ran across it because we had to miss out on a class with the same theme last week. There are nine different countries included in the packet, including China, France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Spain. There are recipes, activities and information about each country.

Have you heard about the new $4 plates at Olive Garden? While some of them look like a waste of money (fried pizza dough? That’s like getting fish sticks at a Chinese buffet, right?), others look pretty tempting, like the risotto bites or the tortellini. If you’re going out shopping for your kids this Christmas, this would make a great tapas stop in between stores.

Get a Gold Star Membership at Costco for just $55 while the deal is on and get a free pack of 48 batteries, a free case of water, and a free rotisserie chicken, too. This would make a great holiday gift, especially for large families.

Whether you are on Pinterest or not, bookmarking the Freebie Finding Mom’s Pinterest page is a great way to stay in the loop about great deals and freebies.

With our birthday season (October through December) here, we’ve been getting tons of freebies in our email boxes and in the mail. If you haven’t already, I really encourage you to google all of your favorite restaurants, stores, etc. and sign up for their birthday mailing lists for special offers like these. A lot of them do require purchases, but some are completely free—and if you are going to be buying something anyway, why not get it cheaper?
