This should make July much more fun!

Photo a day challenge

Throughout 2013, I have a 30 day challenge every month for myself. This month’s challenge was to make something new every day, and in December I have one to take a photo every day. However, today I saw that my friends at Creative Distillery are having a 30-day challenge with daily themes, and I just had to take part. It’s much more fun to do these things with friends!

You don’t have to do this exact challenge—I had planned on December because it’s one of my favorite times of the year, and there are such pretty decorations out—but you can still use their prompts on your own if you like. Or you can challenge yourself to just take any photo every day as long as you take one. It’s such a fun way to keep track of time without lengthy journaling (which I totally support and do when I can, by the way) and you get a month of memories out of it.

For an even bigger challenge, try doing this every day for a year! I wonder how many changes you can log that way… I’m going to introduce the idea to Wood Sprite and see if she wants to take part, too. You could even do it as a family.

Another fun way to create memories is to buy a wall calendar and in every little square, jot down one sentence to describe the day or glue in one thing to summarize the day—from a gum wrapper to an event ticket. You could even do this with photos.

My first photo for the challenge, above, is of my beloved planner! Today’s challenge is a daily ritual, and mine is to check in with my Planner Pad. I’m totally addicted to this product, which allows me to track my work, homeschooling, finances, phone calls, events, field trip lists and more all in one place. I know a lot of people like their digital organizers and I respect that—I’m just not one of them. ;)
