Last month, I ordered an Ipsy subscription for my mother as well as one for myself. It’s only $10 per month, and I rarely ever order myself anything so I felt like it was a safe splurge. The cost includes shipping as well as a makeup bag and 4-5 full-sized or deluxe sample-sized items per month.
Although I was very much into makeup (particularly glitter) before Wood Sprite was born, since then I haven’t really been into it as much. Over the past few months, I’ve been buying an item here and there at the dollar store when we get tissues and other odds and ends and playing with them. I’ve realized how much I have missed playing with makeup, something I now usually reserve just for Halloween.
I received my first Ipsy bag today and it was full of fun items. This month’s bag was pink in honor of its love theme, likely due to Valentine’s Day. I received a POP Beauty lip gloss, Zoya nail polish, City Color matte blush, skyn mud mask and J.Cat beauty false eyelashes. Altogether it was a well-rounded bag, and for $10 I got a huge deal. The nail polish alone is $9 when you buy it separately! Although I wasn’t a fan of a couple of colors, I was able to review them to change the types of colors I will get in the future.
My mom had fun with her Ipsy bag, and I am enjoying mine as well. I love that the items are cruelty-free so far, and that the nail polish is formaldehyde and phthalate free. I can’t wait to see next month’s bag and what’s in it. Do you treat yourself to any subscriptions like this one? If so, what are they and what do you like about them?
