Monday Medley: Our kids are awesome
I just love this post: Abundant Life Children poses the question, what if we looked for the best in our children? We spend so much time worrying about them, “working” on them and comparing their development to every other child that we forget that they are already people and already pretty incredible just as they are!
Have you heard about this new Blackfish documentary drama? It’s based on a true story, and it’s really opening some eyes because it shows what happens when an animal gets “revenge” on his captives. Many activists are using the movie as a reminder that we should not keep such creatures in captivity, and I’m in complete agreement. As cool as it is to see an orca up close, it’s reprehensible to separate families and capture fully sentient animals for our own entertainment.
Have you heard that God is punishing America by lowering our SAT scores? Insert your own eye-roll here.
Hot Wheels cars are introducing a new pinup model series. I’m not happy about this. It would be one thing if they were sold for adults-only, but Hot Wheels are very popular in the toy aisles. Wood Sprite spends many of her alliances on new packs of cars. I’m really tired of the female body being used to sell products—and the lessons this teaches my daughter. Look, if your product is any good, it will speak for itself. If you have to use stupid tricks to get people to buy it, it’s not worth selling.
