Plus parent bullying, parenting secrets and words to say today!

Monday Medley: Make your day magical

A Magical Childhood is back with 10 ways to make your day magical! I love every single one of these posts and really appreciate this family sharing their life with us. This week, they’re talking about garden art, sprinkler adventures, homemade family ice cream flavors and much more.

This post from Our Muddy Boots about how the author does not bully her kids anymore is so important to read. She really hit the nail on the head; two nights ago I actually yelled at Wood Sprite and felt like an epic parental failure. This is how I feel, too—and I am also still learning. Thank you, Jennifer.

Here are six words you need to say today, from Hands Free Mama.

Janet Lansbury is sharing seven parenting secrets that work for her.

Here’s some eye-opening thoughts about tampons and pads. I’ve always considered using reusable pads, but I’ve never even tried them. This is something I’m really considering again.

Have you checked out the new ununschooling website? It’s SUCH a needed place right now. There is a lot of disconnect between “radical” unschoolers, non-radical (I guess?) unschoolers and everyone in between. People are being judged for giving their kids bedtimes or limiting sugar in their homes or for letting their kids make every single decision in their lives instead of SUPPORTING each other like we need to be doing! So many groups have been so judgmental lately, and I have even left some online support groups—even without ever posting—because I feel judged just looking at the posts. I am excited about this project, a project from Life Learning Magazine, and hope that it really helps our community.
