Last-minute Halloween crafts

10/27/13

Wood Sprite and I haven’t had as much time as we normally do this year for creating new decorations. We’ve made a few ghosts, pumpkins and monsters here and there but we’ve just had so many activities, both been sick and even had a run with poison ivy! This week we are going to cram a couple of fun projects around our trick-or-treating, art club, Harry Potter party, homesteading class and science party! (Whew, I’m tired already!)

Here are a few ideas if you’d like to join us. Link to your blog posts of Halloween crafts below.

Although I’m tempted to use a pillow case (heh), we may just make this simple spider web trick-or-treat bag from Dollar Store Crafts this week if we have time. Wood Sprite’s bag broke during trunk-or-treat over the weekend so we definitely need a new one.

Even though Wood Sprite and I make plenty of sugar skull crafts, can you believe that we’ve never made actual sugar skulls yet? We may have to try it; this tutorial from Creating Nirvana looks very us-friendly.

All of these crafty Halloween ideas from Geek Mom sound fun! I love the candy garland idea.

How about some of these adorable toilet paper tube crafts? I absolutely love TP crafts because I’m super good at them. Who isn’t? And they’re usually free. We make things and give them away all the time. We’re even making Where the Wild Things Are toys this week. I really like the pop-up bat toy idea listed here!
