Last minute DIY holiday gifts
There are only a few days left before Christmas, but there is still time to make a few DIY gifts for that extra personal touch. If you need a few ideas, try one of these…
Decorate a cookie sheet with duct tape for an instant magnetic memo board.
Finger-knit a quick scarf with some pretty yarn. This can be done while you watch TV and only takes a few minutes to complete. This tutorial displays a bit more of a complex design, but even it won’t take very long. Watch your favorite holiday movie and before you know it, your scarf will be done!
Make personalized mugs, photo displays, bauble necklaces and any of these fun ideas from A Beautiful Mess. There are 50 ideas total, with ideas for everyone on your list—even the kids. I love the infused sugars, fancy friendship bracelets and his/her pillows.
Buzzfeed has 33 gifts you can make in less than an hour. They include grown-up hot chocolate kits, geode rings, personalized cutting boards and much more. It should be made clear that this list is actually semi-DIY, since some of the items are just things that you buy and add to—like store-bought gloves that you embroider cool words and phrases on as “knuckle tattoos.” Still, most of them can be made very cheaply and they are so quick to do that there’s no reason not to try them out.
And if you absolutely don’t have time to make something, order one of these last-minute gifts from Amazon Prime and see if you can get it just in time.
