Holiday Crafts: Share your favorites

Next week Wood Sprite and I are hosting a fun holiday craft party with one of our homeschooling co-ops. (We are also doing a gingerbread house making party the next day—I know, we are crazy!) The most difficult part of preparing is simply deciding which crafts we want to make! There are so many, and now with Pinterest around, we could do a craft every ten minutes for the rest of our lives and never run out of ideas. Here are a few I’m considering. Which are your favorites?

Toilet Reindeer: These are so adorable and simple, but they will require painting time and drying time. Maybe if I paint ahead of time and let the kids use markers for the details it would work.

Holiday Legos: Wood Sprite is making these like crazy and wants to do them as a group. Unfortunately, they do cost quite a bit to be buying them for everyone! Check out her Chewbacca riding Rudolph pictured here.

We could also make these cute pop-up presents, which would be easy enough and double as a gift the kids can give.

Salt Dough Ornaments: These are so beautiful and easy! The only drawback is that they will take time to bake, and I don’t know how long people will be able to stay. I wonder if we can send them home with baking instructions? Is that okay to do, do you think?

This tinsel play dough looks like a lot of fun, too! It’s not exactly a craft, but it’s something the kids could take home to play with if they like.
