Go-getter Sunday fun
Many of us stay at home on Sundays. For my family, it’s due to not having a vehicle while my husband’s at work. But sometimes you feel a little stir crazy and you just want to go and do something fun outside the house. If this describes your family this week, try one of these fun ideas.
Take your kids for a day of rollercoaster fun! Wood Sprite has become a roller coaster junkie after just a few visits to Six Flags this year. Her favorite is the Screamin’ Eagle (mine, too).
Do a quick search and see what’s happening in your area. Since it’s summer, there’s usually something going on every day near major cities. There are festivals, theme parks, and all kinds of adventures to be had.
Try rock climbing. We are taking Wood Sprite to an indoor rock climbing place next month and she’s stoked about it.
See if you have a local pottery studio to paint some art at, especially if it’s too hot outside to play.
Or cool off outside at your nearest water park.
If you’re off work on Monday, stay at a hotel and have an adventure! Check out the pool and exercise room, order room service, pad down the halls in your socks and play hide and seek, whatever. (Be sure to keep small kids close, of course.)
Go camping, or just head to your nearest state park for the day. Enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking and whatever else sounds fun.
See if you have an archery range near you, rent some bows and arrows and have at it! Wood Sprite loves to shoot at our local range.
