Friday Fun: Nail art, Lego activities, collage shrines and more.
Try some fun nail art. These tutorials are great! Wood Sprite spent the night with her grandma last weekend and came home with painted toenails for the first time—something that she normally hates. They were blue and adorable, so naturally Indy teased her about kicking smurfs.
By the way, we went to a class on ancient Chinese inventions and did you know that the Chinese invented nail polish? Its color was for status regarding money—gold, silver and bronze.
Here’s a whopping roundup of 70 free Lego activities.
Make a day out of seeing what free things you can do in your town. Try the library, hiking, wading in the creek, riding your bikes, reading at the park, whatever you like. Show your kids how much fun you can have without spending anything (except maybe gas money).
Try these five fun Pinterest ideas for summer.
Make a cute collage shrine.
Here are some fun planters to make. Here are some cool shelving units, too.
Have a slumber party with your kids. Everyone in the house can wear PJs, camp in the living room on blankets and pillows (and sleeping bags, if you have them), pop popcorn and watch movies. Play games, sing karaoke, have a pillow fight—just act like you’re a kid again and don’t worry about the mess (until tomorrow)!
Make this cool spiral herb garden! I just love it.
Make your t-shirts into baby clothes with a few simple steps.
Gape at this list of songs that are now 20 years old and marvel at how old you are. Then share your favorites with your kids.
