Friday Fun: DIY St. Pat’s
What are you up to this weekend? My family is attending co-op, selling cookies, going on a playdate, visiting my parents, heading to the Science Center and delivering cookies—among other things! Whew. I’m already tired thinking about it! Here are a few fun ideas if you need them, especially if the big snow’s supposed to hit again.
Weave a cute bug on a rug with this idea from Artolazzi. Remember that whole “Ladybug, Ladybug” rhyme from elementary school? This would definitely work with that.
Redbird Crafts has a neat idea: just paint circles with watercolors and draw flowers inside. They are so simple, yet pretty enough to frame for some spring art in your home.
Gather up some pom poms and make some fun creatures.
Make some DIY recycled St. Patrick’s Day decorations. Or how about something your pet would like? Wood Sprite is all ready to make something for the cats, or our aunt’s dog, which she adores. Every time we visit she asks if she can have him! We’re going to have to get a dog soon. It’s just so hard to choose.
And if you’re out and about, buy some Girl Scout cookies and support us! We’ll be selling tonight in the cold, and I know $4 is a lot for a box of cookies, but these eight-year-olds are working hard. We do get 50 cents from each box to support our troop activities—such as community service, camp, patches and more—and the girls also get prizes for selling lots of boxes. Wood Sprite is about 70 boxes away from a stuffed dog she wants to earn.
