Friday fun: Decorating for Valentine’s Day

Looking forward to decorating for Valentine’s Day? Kiwi Crate has several fun decorating ideas to do with children, from heart-shaped stamps to heart-shaped dreamcatchers. Between all of these ideas, you can make a house full of Valentine cheer with little to no money spent! I am actually hosting a Valentine craft party with our homeschool group early in the month and I think we’ll definitely use some of these ideas for our projects.

Want to make some sweet-smelling, soft play dough with just two ingredients you probably already have? Try mixing one part hair conditioner to two parts cornstarch!

Make a sweet heart garland for Valentine’s Day.

Make your own upcycled building kit for kids from Modern Parents, Messy Kids. I love this idea! You can even print out inventor cards, but I was thinking of going a step further and making other kits, too. Wood Sprite would definitely a love spy kit, superhero kit, detective kit or an animal rescuer kit. Of course, some of these might not be as cheap and easy to do as a building kit.

Start making your own valentines if you are going to be handing them out this year. Here’s a free printable to use with Ring Pops if you don’t have time to hand make your own valentines.

Create a gorgeous Valentine’s Day centerpiece from Crafting a Green World out of recycled or cheap materials and sticks you have on hand. Depending on how you make this craft, you might even have everything you need on hand already.
