Fabulous Mother’s Day ideas
My mother never gets to shop for herself, so I enjoy buying her gifts for Mother’s Day. That said, I know a lot of moms who would rather have something heartfelt, sappy and downright embarrassing for Mother’s Day. I am one of those moms, and maybe yours is, too. If so, here are some surefire hits for Mother’s Day this year:
A letter or poem, no matter how poorly written or gushy, about her with specific memories and gratitude—especially one written in your own handwriting
A photo album featuring the two of you frequently; add sweet captions for an even better touch
A photo frame featuring a favorite picture of the two of you, or your whole family
A photo of your mom pregnant with you (yeah, I totally ripped this off of the movie The Family Stone)
A favorite book with an inscription
A favorite anything, from candy to flowers to CD of burned music, just to show that you know her
Those goofy coupons for foot rubs, chores and other deeds—but make them good for time with you instead
Memorabilia of her favorite thing—actress, music, historical period, whatever
Speaking of which, a whole day with you doing whatever, from a full spa treatment to a movie in your jammies together while you eat ice cream
Any of these cute Pinterest ideas
I only recommend these things if you mean them, of course. Remember they also apply to any other loving, motherly figure in your life.
