DIY Sunday
Here are some herbs that repel flies. These would definitely be worth planting
Here are some really cute ways to make vertical planters out of pallets.
Make your own detox bath. (I bought the stuff for last week’s recipe but haven’t had time to really try it yet; give yourself at least 40 minutes for this!)
Make some scrumptious peppermint food scrub. And if you decide to get some peppermint oil, make sure to make some of your own bug spray. We mixed two teaspoons of peppermint oil with 1 cup of water like this article calls for and it works so well! It gets rid of just about any kind of bug. We did it to repel spiders, but I’ve hardly seen any bugs at all since we sprayed—and the house smells nice, not disgusting, afterward.
Ever think of making your own bread in a leftover can? This is such a fun idea!
And here are 25 different uses for essential oils. You’ll definitely want to read through this one and bookmark some of these uses, like lemon lime oil for sugar scrub and lavender for bug bites. Plus, the ways to actually use all of these oils are also listed.
Make your own outdoor pond with these ideas. I think the real trick to these—and so many other DIY projects—is to actually have access to things that are free, like pallets. Try looking on Craigslist or asking a business that trucks in a lot of stuff—a paper printing company, for example—if you can use any they are throwing away.
