Paranormal Romance Pick of the Week: Soulless

In the vast world of romantic fiction, there truly is a book out there for everyone. From the quirky, modern affairs of shy yet strikingly handsome computer analysts to the sordid love triangles of Elizabethan England, the genre leaves no fantasy unfulfilled. And for those of us who prefer a dose of dark magic with our romance, there's no time like the present to be alive and reading. With hundreds of Paranormal Romance titles released every year, both digitally and otherwise, we have nothing short of a cornucopia of titles at our fingertips.

On that note, I present my Paranormal Romance Pick of the Week: Soulless.

The first book in Gail Carriger's fabulous Parasol Protectorate series, Soulless chronicles the life, love, and deliciously Neo-Victorian adventures of Alexia Talbot, a preternatural spinster whose literal soullessness allows her to “humanize” supernatural creatures at the touch of her hand. For fans of both the Steampunk and Paranormal Romance genres, this series has it all: Mischievous and alluring vampires, epic parasol combat, tea time, fashionable attire, intrigue, and racy werewolf seduction scenes. If you aren't a fan of novels, never fear: This book and its sequels were also released as a wonderfully illustrated manga series.
