Paranormal Romance Pick of the Week: Prom Nights from Hell

From Emma Wildes' notorious Victorian bachelors to the steampowered fantasy worlds of Gail Carriger, there truly is a romance novel out there for everyone. If you prefer your love stories laced with supernatural chills and thrills, Prom Nights from Hell is likely the perfect book for you.

A fun collection of five short stories, Prom Nights from Hell brings horror, romance and the paranormal together at that infamous dance of dances. With vampires, grim reapers, dark magic and demons, this is a Prom unlike any you've ever seen. The Corsage, for example, tells the cautionary tale of Frankie, whose corsage has the power to grant dangerous wishes. Kiss and Tell explores the life of an otherwise normal teen with superpowers she doesn't quite understand. The Exterminator's Daughter is a story of vengeance as only a vampire hunter can reap.

Featuring the talents of Meg Cabot, Stephanie Meyer, Kim Harrison, Michele Jaffe and Lauren Myracle, Prom Nights from Hell isn't the most artful collection of stories I've ever read, but what it lacks in depth, it more than makes up for in good old fashioned scares. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a soft spot for only the creepiest kinds of romance.
