Paranormal Romance Pick of the Week: Everneath

Celebrating Valentine's Day on your own doesn't have to be a somber affair. In fact, this time of year is one of my favorites for giving myself some well deserved “me” time. If you, too, are single this holiday season, why not treat your heart and mind to a cozy night at home with a guaranteed page turner?

Brodi Ashton's Everneath is the first in a wonderful paranormal romance series which tells the story of Nikki Beckett, a young woman who disappeared only to reemerge from an underworld known as The Everneath. She's been given six months to bid farewell to the land of living before being sucked back down below forever. To further complicate things, as she tries to reconnect with her boyfriend, her steps are shadowed by a smoldering immortal determined to take the throne of Everneath... and Nikki as his queen.

Based loosely on the myth of Persephone and Hades, this story is as engaging as it is unique. Emotional manipulation, tormented spirits, love and lust – all have a part to play here and each is beautifully executed. If you're a fan of truly original storytelling and want to surround yourself with a romance worthy of Valentine's Day this season, I highly recommend giving this one a read.
