Paranormal Romance Pick of the Week: A Midwinter Fantasy
December is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate the season than with a collection of tantalizing holiday stories? Falling into the wintry pages of A Midwinter Fantasy, that's exactly what you'll find. Featuring the talents of beloved genre authors Leanna Renee Hieber, L.J. MacDonald and Helen Scott Taylor, this collection of three paranormal romance tales is sure to warm you up while simultaneously chilling you to the bone.
First, we have A Christmas Carroll, a unique adaptation of the Dickens classic, in which the love and future happiness of Rebecca and Michael are guided by the hands of three rather crafty spirits. Then comes The Worth of a Sylph, wherein Lily's dying wish is that her Sylph slave choose another master before she passes on. Finally, The Crystal Crib carries us to Iceland (in a flying sleigh) for an epic war waged by sworn enemies and the plight of the woman caught between them.
Some say this book is best read if you're familiar with the previous work of the writers, but I disagree. I think these are wonderful stand-alone stories which capture the spirit of the season in very interesting ways. As rich in mythology as they are in affairs of the heart, they're also excellent reads for those of us who want a little something more from our romantic fiction.
