Oh, the Horror!: More Must-See Movies for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day may be a great holiday for couples, but it's also a fantastic time to be alone. If your plans for the weekend include a cozy night at home, try dimming the lights and settling in for a couple of seriously scary films. The best part about these movies is they're not only terrifying, but also artfully empowering, especially for female viewers.

Teeth (2007)
Dawn is a good, Christian girl whose chastity is as precious to her as life itself... but when she meets Tobey, something changes. Compelled for the first time to have sex, Dawn surrenders herself to her urges only to discover her body is determined to keep her chaste no matter the gruesome cost. An at times hilarious exploration of the “vagina dentata” folk tale, Teeth is equal parts disturbing and entertaining.

Hard Candy (2006)
When quirky teenager Hayley meets Jeff - a handsome older man - online, sparks fly. Believing himself to be in for an underage treat, Jeff takes Hayley back to his apartment. Little does he know she's all too aware of his affinity for younger girls and she's determined to make him pay. A genuinely unique and thought-provoking story, Hard Candy is as brutal as it is poignant.
