Oh, the Horror!: More Must-See Movies for November

Thanksgiving certainly has a lot to offer when it comes to feel-good films about family and togetherness, but this is also a great time of year for horror fans. From hilarious spoofs like Poultrygeist to the underground classic Home Sweet Home, there are plenty of reasons for lovers of the creepy (and the crazy) to give thanks. So grab your Turkey Day fixin's and settle down with someone special for these fantastic seasonal scares.

Ravenous (1999)
Nothing says “Happy Thanksgiving!” like good old-fashioned cannibalism. Starring Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle, Ravenous takes the Wendigo myth to horrifying levels as a group of colonials find themselves in the company of a mysterious frontiersman whose party was “lost” in the woods. This movie is sure to make you feel grateful for the little things... like central heating and, y'know, having friends you can trust not to eat you.

ThanksKilling (2009)
Sometimes, all you want is to sit back and watch a cinematic masterpiece at work. If that's the mood you're in this year, ThanksKilling is not for you. If, however, you're up for the fowl-mouthed story of a demonic turkey terrorizing a group of college students, prepare yourself for some psychotic seasonal fun. This movie is utterly terrible, but in that delightful way which prevents you from turning it off. Just repeat to yourself, "There's no such thing as a killer turkey."
