Oh, the Horror!: Even More Must-See Movies for January

From dark psychological thrillers to cheap summer camp slashers, there truly is a horror movie out there for everyone... but rarely will you find a scary film as universally entertaining as a good old fashioned teen scream. Rife with tough-talking jocks, wise-cracking nerds, wild parties and plenty of bodies in the basement, these movies take the best and worst parts about high school and turn them into something both terrifying and fun.

Jennifer's Body
When Needy and her best friend, Jennifer, met the members of their favorite indie band, they couldn't have known a Satanic sacrifice was lurking around the bend. Suddenly, the band is rolling in fame and money while the boys at Needy's high school find themselves the victims of a ravenous – albeit gorgeous – teen succubus. Starring Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox, this gorey comedy is one of the more amusing horror films I've seen in a long time.

Scre4m
Ten years after the events the first film, Sidney Prescott returns to Woodsboro on tour for her autobiography, “Out of Darkness.” Meanwhile, a new generation of teenagers in town start dropping like flies under the knife of the enigmatic Ghostface. The kills are more brutal, the phone calls are more vicious, and the only rule for the new generation is that there are no rules. Filled with hilarious and poignant observations about the evolution of the genre, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this sequel.
