Nintendo debunks "Zelda" rumors

Today in Time Magazine, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata debunked rumors that had been circulating of a possible original Netflix series based on The Legend of Zelda. The rumors began in the Wall Street Journal last February, of a live action show that they described as "like Game of Thrones for a family audience."

Sadly for Zelda fans everywhere, Iwata has pretty definitively shut the door on this one. "The article in question is not based on correct information," he said.

Some fans still cling to hope that Iwata was simply protecting their project by obfuscating the truth. You never know - Nintendo has lied to us before. But sad to say, this one sounds like a non-starter.
