Nick Hornby is Coming to Barnes & Noble Next Month
Every once in a while (perhaps a little more often in New York City), an opportunity arises to meet a truly phenomenal writer. This February, Barnes & Noble at Union Square is offering just such an opportunity by hosting an in-store conversation with English author Nick Hornby.
You might know Nick Hornby as the man behind High Fidelity, a hilarious and insightful love story for music buffs that was adapted to screen in 2000. He also wrote About A Boy, How To Be Good, Fever Pitch, and A Long Way Down, all of which are – in this writer's humble opinion – beautifully penned observations of human life and relationships. In addition to his many novels, he's also written screenplays, short stories, non-fiction and more.
Mr. Hornby will be appearing at Barnes & Noble on February 4th as part of a live talk with Bill Tipper and presumably signing copies of his new book, Funny Girl, which is scheduled for release on February 3rd. Funny Girl tells the story of a young woman living in London in the 1960s. Personally, I can't contain my excitement about this new title, as Nick has this bizarre ability to write from the perspective of a woman with greater insight than even some female writers I've read.
