New York Reads: Two Delightful Love Stories Set in New York

New York is a city of many things – history, art, music and theater, to name a few. For many authors, it's also the perfect backdrop for some fantastic love stories. If you're in the mood for a little romantic reading this February, try one of these novels that are not only rife with page-turning romance, but are also set right here in NYC.

Something Borrowed
This contemporary Manhattan love story is the first in Emily Giffin's Darcy and Rachel series. When Rachel wakes up in bed with her best friend's fiance, she discovers a truth about herself that needs sorting out before it's too late. While many readers criticize Giffin for blurring the lines between heroism and questionable decisions, I personally believe it's the novel's greatest strength. A witty and poignant tale of friendship, love and learning, Something Borrowed is a truly engaging read.

P.O. Box Love: A Novel of Letters
Paola Calvetti's unique and moving novel tells the tale of two high school sweethearts reunited after thirty years through letters. Set partly in NYC and partly in Milan, this is one of those books you just can't put down once you've picked it up. Don't be fooled by the somewhat cheesy title; this is one of the best love stories I've read in a long time. Side note: Fans of 84 Charing Cross Road will particularly enjoy this one.
