Minecraft passes 20 million copies sold on PC

Minecraft continues to be the biggest juggernaut in gaming, passing two big sales milestones back-to-back: first they surpassed 20 million copies sold on Xbox in May, then they passed 20 million copies sold on PC this week.

Notch, the creator of the game, stepped away as Microsoft acquired his development company Mojang for $2.5 billion dollars, but this news hasn't hurt sales in the least.

No word yet on what might be next for Minecraft in the years to come, although there were some interesting demos of VR versions of Minecraft at E3 this year. Start punching those trees!
