It wasn't too long ago that Peyton Manning was getting used to a new home. After recovering from a neck injury and being cut form his previous home in Indianapolis, Manning found himself packing his bags and heading west, like the gold miners of old. While it didn't take long for him to be accepted in Bronco country with open arms, it did take some time and an unfortunate playoff loss, to get used to his new surroundings. Now, in lieu of being at the top of Vegas odd makers predictions, it looks as if Manning is getting a little more comfortable in his new home.
While it isn't a strange thing for athletes to mess with one another, it seems as if Peyton Manning is as good at throwing the ball as he is at pranking his teammates. According to ESPN, Manning has been on the planning end of several pranks being played on teammates during the entirety of the off-season. While some of the pranks have been simple, like trying to change the language on tight end Joel Dreessen’s iPhone, some have been quite elaborate.
One of Manning’s biggest jokes thus far has been a public cream pie to the face of right tackle Orlando Franklin. While Franklin was giving an interview on live TV at the Colorado Rockies home game against the New York Yankees, teammate Eric Decker, under the orders and supervision of Manning, snuck behind his teammate and smashed the pie in his face. The hilarity was caught on camera by around 15 of Franklin’s teammates.
While Manning has hit many targets this off-season with the football, it seems that his pranks are about as ubiquitous as his perfectly thrown long balls down field. Manning’s teammates, though, aren't going to give up on getting him back. According to Decker, “There’s some stuff in the works. I got some Intel from some people on the inside.” The chemistry is building quickly in the Broncos locker room, but can it translate into another stellar season for Denver?
